Faculty member of IUE Political Science and International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhun Al’s project, titled “Forms of Nationalism in İzmir: Perceptions, Attitudes, and Negotiations”, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1001 program.

Research Assistant in the IUE Political Science and International Relations, Batıkan Bulut, has successfully completed his six-month visiting research stay at the GIGA – German Institute for Global and Area Studies in Hamburg, Germany, under the supervision of Dr. Christiane Fröhlich.

Faculty member of the IUE Political Science and International Relations, Dr. Umut Can Adısönmez and Assoc. Prof. Helin Sarı Ertem have completed the special issue “Turkey’s Violent Tango with the West” in the journal Critical Studies on Security with the publication of their Introductory Article.

Can Arıkan and Cenker Karagöz, who graduated from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Business, Department of Political Science and International Relations this year, have been awarded the ‘Jean Monnet’ scholarship, given to a select number of young individuals by the European Union. 

Faculty member of the IUE Political Science and International Relations, Dr. Umut Can Adısönmez is in the United Kingdom this week. He is attending the 50th British International Studies Association (BISA) meeting in Belfast. 

Faculty member of the IUE Department of Political Science and International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sıtkı Egeli delivered a presentation analyzing the past year’s developments on ballistic missiles at the annual review meeting of the Hague Code of Conduct (HCOC), where he was invited as a guest speaker.
