Faculty members of our department attended IPSA 75th Anniversary Conference
Faculty members of the IUE Political Science and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Filiz Başkan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhun Al and the department's research assistant, Batıkan BULUT, attended the IPSA 75th Anniversary Conference hosted by the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon on 11-13 September 2025.
Prof. Dr. Filiz Başkan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhun Al presented their paper titled "Turkey: Democratic Resilience or Ruptures in Autocratization" in the session" Ending Competitive Authoritarianism in Turkey? CHP's Opposition Strategies Under AKP Rule".
Res. Assist. Batıkan Bulut presented his research titled "The Diaspora Dilemma: How Debates on Expatriate Voting Contributed to the Turkish Democratization Narrative," in the session "Migration in Democratization and Autocratization Proccesses."
The conference organized by IPSA was attended by over 500 researchers from various universities worldwide.
