IUE PSIR Faculty Members participated in the IPSA World Congress
Our Faculty member Prof. Filiz Başkan, Research Asst. Dr. Nil Dikmengil, and PhD candidate Ecem Gacener have participated in the 28th World Congress of Political Science organized by IPSA.
During the event which has taken place in Seoul between July 12-16, Prof. Başkan presented her works titled “Populism in Pictures: A Comparative Analysis of Trump’s and Erdoğan’s Visual Communication” co-authored with Dr. Selin Bengi Gümrükçü and “Analyzing the Turkish Media’s Role in Fostering Polarization in a Post-Truth Environment” co-authored with Asst. Prof. Pınar Umul Ünsal and Dr. Aytunç Erçifçi. Dr. Dikmengil presented her work, co-authored with Dr. Şeyma Altunkaya, titled “Non-State Actors’ Role in Governance: An Actor-Based Approach on ‘Hawza Ilmiyya of Najaf’.
Our PhD candidate Gacener presented her research titled "Guarding Green Policies: The Challenge of Democratic Backsliding in Environmental Politics".
